Nekroza (Eng. “Necrosis”) is a new name on the Croatian metal scene founded in 2021 by guitarist Igor, known for his work in Kult Perunov, Black Cult. The band swiftly coalesced around like-minded individuals who shared his musical vision. The inception of their first compositions followed shortly thereafter, though the lineup experienced initial fluctuations before solidifying into a cohesive unit. The primary objective was to deliver an unadulterated form of death metal, as envisioned by Igor.

The lyrics, penned in Croatian, reflect a desire for direct expression using slang and archaisms. Exploring themes of misanthropy, death, cosmic horror, and gore, the band employs these elements metaphorically to convey their perspective on humanity. In their artistic narrative, humanity is portrayed as a malignant growth on the planet, a sentiment the band seeks to articulate through their unique blend of musicality and lyrical depth.

While the band may be a recent addition to the metal scene, its composition boasts seasoned veterans from the Croatian metal landscape. Alongside Igor, the lineup comprises Josip lending his vocals, Rafael on second guitar, and Dalibor handling the drums.

As the curtain falls on the year 2023, the quartet has meticulously channelled their collective anger, frustration, and morbid fascination with death into a sonic tapestry that defines their debut album, “Procesija ucrvanih” (English: “Procession of the Putrid”). With this release, the album serves as an auditory arsenal, unleashing a surge of energy poised to firmly establish Croatia on the European death metal map.
